Shakira is on the up and up, and it seems like there is no one who can stop her.
Over the weekend, the "Hips Don't Lie" singer accepted the Woman of the Year Award at the Billboard Latin Women in Music Awards.
She did not mince her words and simply addressed her tumultuous past relationship during her speech, "There comes a time in the life of every woman where she no longer depends on someone else to love and accept herself just as she is."
Shakira went on to explain how important it is to establish self-love and acceptance over looking for someone to love.
"A time when the desire to be perfect is replaced by the desire to be authentic, and where finding someone who is faithful is less important than being faithful to ourselves."
Despite not naming anyone in particular in her speech, it was clear that she was referring to her ex-long-term boyfriend Gerard Pique, who had an affair behind her back.
Miss Moving On
The news of Shakira's nasty split came to light late last year, shortly after she was accused of tax fraud in Spain.
Aside from the legal troubles, Shakira found herself in more trouble: a cheating ex and a custody battle.
Pique reportedly showed off his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, to the entire world through a hard launch on Instagram.
While Shakira kept much to herself during these times, it was clear what was on her mind because it was reflected through her music.
"This is really hard to talk about personally - especially because I'm still going through it, and because I'm in the public eye," the singer previously told Elle magazine. "And because our separation is not like a regular separation. And so it's been tough not only for me but also for my kids."
However, despite all the odds stacked against her, the "She Wolf" singer managed to turn things around.

New Love?
Aside from the release of her massive hit song, "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53," Shakira is now being seen returning back into the limelight with brighter spirits.
According to reports, the singer was even spotted at the Grand Prix F1 Race in Miami, alongside several celebrities-who are notably handsome and some single.
In fact, Shakira was seen mingling with Tom Cruise during the festivities, which has caused some eyebrows to raise.
