Fans are excited to see Lizzo at her scheduled concert in Hartford, but unfortunately, the singer has been struggling with an illness at the moment, leading her to cancel her show; what happened?

Taking to her official Instagram account, the "About Damn Time" hitmaker shared a video of herself, telling her fans who already bought tickets that it hurts for her to speak, but it hurts more to cancel the show.

Further explaining what happened to her, the musician said she initially canceled her show in Montreal after experiencing "extreme flu-like" symptoms.

Lizzo Health Update

At first, they thought it was COVID, but she tested negative. However, her results came back positive after taking a test for strep throat.

"Though I'm feeling stronger, my body, my throat is still extremely raw and swollen. My lymph nodes are swollen, and the doctors say that it would not be wise to sing while my throat is like this," she added. (via Billboard)

Lizzo later noted that in the past, she pushed her limits as she wanted to give her best for her fans to enjoy during her concerts. However, now that she's maturing, this would not be the best thing to do as she needed to heal for her to maintain her body.

However, there is still no update when her make-up show would be.

Lizzo Cancels Montreal Show

This was not the first time Lizzo had to cancel a show for her current tour dates as she also postponed her concert in Montreal last week.

She told fans she "physically cannot do the show," but tickets will still be honored for a rescheduled date. MTL Blog reported that the show has now been scheduled for June 11, 2023, at the Bell Centre.

The recent news comes after the pop star delivered a surprise performance inside the Metropolitan Museum for the Met Gala where she performed some of her biggest hits like "Truth Hurts," "Cuz I Love You," "Good As Hell," and many more.

She also performed a duet with renowned flute player Sir James Galway for the song "Flight of the Bumble Bee."
