Darius Rucker Bio 

Darius Rucker was born on May 13, 1966 in Charleston, South Carolina. Rucker belongs to an ordinary African-American family from the south. As such, Rucker and his family spent long hours in church during Sundays, and had to cope with financial challenges, as per Biography.com. 

As Darius began to grow up, he became actively involved in his church and high school choirs, thus, paving the way for him to take an interest in music. Rucker became determined to pursue music as a professional career by the time that he became a college student. 

Darius Rucker and Hootie & the Blowfish 

Darius, alongside friends and fellow musicians, Mark Bryan and Dean Felber initially formed the trio music group called Wolf Brothers. In 1986, though, the three men established the now existing band, called Hootie and the Blowfish. The trio named their band after two classmates in the University of South Carolina. One of the classmates had owl-like glasses, and the other classmate had a rotund-shaped face. Hence, the name of the band came into conception. 

Darius Rucker and Hootie & the Blowfish Hits and Professional Accomplishments 

Darius Rucker together with his bandmates from Hootie and the Blowfish distributed their debut album called, "Cracked Rear View" in 1994. The album reached the number one spot of the chart. The said album featured songs, like, "Hold My Hand," "Time," "Let Her Cry," and "I Only Want to be With You." The album sold over 16 million copies. Hootie and the Blowfish, on the other hand, eventually won two Grammy awards.

Darius Rucker is set to perform live on September 1, 2023 in New York city for the Citi Concert series for the "Today" show. As per Today.com, fans can check in as early as 5:15 am that day. The concert ends at 9:30 am. 

The concert is to be held at New York's Rockefeller plaza. Each person who will be in attendance of the event must present a valid photo ID. Each registered concert goer can bring along a maximum of three other people to come with the former via securement of fan passes. Fans who register here may be chosen in random to get fan passes, and, thus, watch the concert.
