Metallica is currently on tour and many fans on their selected European dates are excited as they will also have a chance to see Five Finger Death Punch perform live. However, the band announced that the group will no longer join them on tour due to an alarming reason; what happened?

The legendary rockers already played the first two shows of their M72 "no repeat weekend" and is bound to play on May 17 and 19 again.

However, their supporting act had to be removed from the lineup at the last minute due to singer Ivan Moody's current condition as he's recovering from surgery. (via Loudwire)

Fortunately, the symphonic metal band, Epica, is here to save the show as Metallica announced that they will be replacing the initial group as the frontman needs to heal from his medical woe.

Taking to their official Twitter account, Epica expressed their excitement and gratitude to the band, writing, "We're HONOURED to support the mighty @Metallica... There's nothing else to say; this is the ultimate for any metal band. We can't wait to add our flair to #M72WorldTour."

What Happened to Ivan Moody?

The recent announcement comes weeks after Five Finger Death Punch frontman Ivan Moody confirmed that they will no longer join Metallica for their series of "no repeat" shows.

The reason why they had to cancel their appearance was that the vocalist underwent surgery for his three hernias.

Moody explained that he was filming a music video where he jumped "a little bit" and then he felt something pop.

"I didn't think much of it. The next day I went to rehearsal, and again, something was a little off, so I took myself to the doctor and he sat me down and he told me that he was surprised I was still walking," he said.

After consulting the professional, the surgery was done in an instant and it was fast. However, since three hernias were operated at the same time, it was a "shock" to his system, and using his diaphragm and stomach to sing could be painful.
