Liam Payne, unlike other One Direction alums, has not released new music in quite some time now.
The "Strip That Down" singer finally revealed why-it's because he has been focusing on himself and his sobriety.
"I feel amazing," Payne said in an interview. "I feel really, really good, and support from the fans and everything has been really, really good. So, I'm super happy."
Back in 2021, the singer shared that he has been meaning to make a change in his lifestyle in order to turn his life and not to mention career around.
It seems like it took him some time, but he is finally getting there. According to reports, the singer is now over 100 days sober.
Self-Love and Improvement
During his appearance at "The Diary of a CEO," in 2021, Payne said that seeing himself through pictures shook him up and made him realize some things.
"It was only until I saw myself after that I was like, 'All right, I need to fix myself,'" Payne explained.
"It was like a few pictures of me on a boat, and I'm all, like, bloated out, and I call it pill-and-booze face. ... My face was just like 10 times more than it is now. And I just didn't like myself very much, so then I made a change."
Between 2021 and now, Payne has been seen occasionally. He has graced some red carpets and premieres, like former bandmate Louis Tomlinson's documentary premiere.
But other than those appearances, Payne has mostly kept to himself, and has not released new material.

New Music
According to the Daily Mail UK, the singer is finally ready to get back to the studio and make music again.
In fact, he not only wants to release a new album, but he also wants to go back on tour.
"I definitely want to tour this time, which is unusual because I wasn't sure I was going to tour for a long time," Payne said.
"I was kind of over it for a little bit, but I'm really excited to get back out on the road and go and see all the fans and get about a bit. It's going to be fun."
Apparently, he has also been working on new material for quite some time now, as per The Sun, so fans can definitely expect to see a comeback from Payne in the coming months or years.
