Olivia Rodrigo teased fans about releasing new music later this year and her supporters couldn't wait to hear new material from the pop star.

Before we celebrate her latest era, let's take a look at the flourishing career of the musician before she became one of the biggest singers of this decade.

Olivia Rodrigo Early Life

Born Olivia Isabel Rodrigo on February 20, 2003, in California. It appears that music was really her passion as she started taking vocal lessons while she was in kindergarten.

Later on, she even polished her skills in music by learning how to play the piano. Since she loves singing and acting during her early years, she starred in theater productions in elementary school. (via Inland Empire)

Despite being born in the 2000s, Rodrigo is an old soul as she loved listening to rock bands that were established decades before she was even born.

She loved songs played by some of the biggest bands such as Green Day, Pearl Jam, No Doubt, and many more. She later delves into a different genre, which is country, making her a big fan of Taylor Swift.

Olivia Rodrigo Career

Her first onscreen appearance was a TV advertisement for Old Navy. Her family moved to Los Angeles, California, which gave her many opportunities within the Hollywood Industry.

Her acting debut was in the film "An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success. She also made it big when she starred as Paige Olvera in Disney Channel's "Bizaardvark" for three seasons.

Olivia Rodrigo's acting career didn't stop there as she was able to land the role of Nini Salazar-Roberts in the Disney+ series "High School Musical: The Musical. Series."

Following this, she struck a deal with Interscope Records and later released her debut single "Sour" which became Spotify's biggest song having 80 million streams within a week.

Her first album "Sour" later came a few months later and the pop singer only proved that she's not a one- hit-wonder as her record amassed positive reviews from critics.

Rodrigo's biggest achievement of her career so far was winning several awards at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards which include Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance. She did all of this at the age of 19.

More recently, she teased fans about her next musical era. Taking to her newsletter, the musician shared a handwritten note thanking her supporters for their love as she celebrated the second anniversary of "Sour."

"I'm taking today to reflect on all the amazing things that have happened since SOUR and looking forward to all the things to come," she wrote.

In an Instagram post, she added, "the new stuff is so so so so so close to being done I pinky promise."
