Lana Del Rey's First Live Performance in 3 Years Was 'Iconic, Chaotic': Here's Why

Lana Del Rey headlined the MITA Festival in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, and let's just say that it will be a performance that will go down in music history.

According to the Daily Mail UK, the "Summertime Sadness" singer has not performed live in almost four years; her last live solo performance was back in November 2019 in Abu Dhabi.

Del Rey had to make sure-whether intentionally or not-that this performance is one for the books.

Firstly, her outfit was immaculate. The 37-year-old singer wore a blonde wig, a huge deviation from her usual auburn locks, which she paired with her signature smokey-eye makeup and pouty lips.

Highly Anticipated Setlist

Del Rey released her ninth studio album, "Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" in March.

Fans have been anticipating live performances from this album for months now, especially since it has been several years since the singer has performed live.

Sure enough, Del Rey did not disappoint. She performed the first single off the album, which also happens to be the title track, as well as the two other singles "A&W" and "The Grants," and "Candy Necklace."

Del Rey did not perform at any music festival or event since the pandemic hit, but she has released three albums since then: "Chemtrails over the Country Club" and "Blue Banisters" in 2021.

With three albums released since her last live performance, fans are eagerly anticipating which songs would make the cut for her first live show.

Vape Gate

Aside from her first time gracing the stage once again in three years, Del Rey went viral after a video of the singer looking for her vape onstage was shared on social media.

Mid-performance, the "Blue Jeans" singer asked her fans if they saw her vape: "If you see my vape on stage, can you find my vape on stage?"

But when a fan found it in the pit, Del Rey decided that it wasn't worth the hassle anymore, and proceeded with her set.

Fans poked fun at the singer and the "chokehold" vape had on her: "The chokehold these vapes have on people lmao."

While others commended her for being so iconic and relatable: "LDR so real."
