Lizzo has been a target of body shaming and fatphobic comments throughout the media. Known for embracing her plus-size body and features, the Grammy-winning singer mulls over quitting music after a flurry of new tweets bothered her.

In the past week, Lizzo performed a version of the late Tina Turner's hit song "Proud Mary" at one of her concerts. The tribute has since trended on social media. Supposedly the performance should be the focal point of the video, but some people decided to take a jab at Lizzo's health and body instead.

Fatphobic Comments Against Lizzo

One user asked in a quote tweet of the said performance: "How is Lizzo still THIS fat when she's constantly moving this much on stage?! I wonder what she must be eating "

While many seemed to explain the physical phenomenon, the user didn't seem to be all that bothered.

One even suggested that it is because she eats a lot of fast food. "I just don't understand how she's still so fat when she moves so much," the original poster continued to insult her. Lizzo seemed to whiff the said comments as she logged in to Twitter.

Lizzo Wants To Quit Music?

In a direct response to the original poster, Lizzo had this to say: "It's really starting to make me hate the world. I'm tired of explaining myself all the time, and I just wanna get on this app w/out seeing my name in some bullshit."

Addressing another user who insulted her, Lizzo clarified that she is not trying to be fat or tries to be smaller. She pointed out that she just wanted to live healthily, noting that that was what her body looked like despite eating "super clean" and working out.

In another tweet, the multi-platinum artist dropped a revelation: "Y'all don't know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F**KING FARM," she said. Lizzo has since gone private on Twitter. Check out the screenshots of her tweets on Popcrave.

This seemed to concern her fans, who have been non-stop defending the Emmy-winning singer and host.

"How rude! She is a beautiful woman with a gorgeous body and an amazing talent. If you can't appreciate that you should really not post. It makes you look really bad," someone wrote.

"If you don't understand, why don't you learn about it? Study anatomy and nutritional science. Start learning, and you'll find yourself understanding more," one suggested.
