Zara Larsson has been a musician for more than a decade now as her career started taking off at the age of 10. More recently, the pop star opened up about being in the public eye and revealed how she protects herself from the industry.

Speaking to The Sun, the singer said she has been in "weird situations" after stepping into the limelight as a young artist.

The musician further discussed that "sexism" can happen in the music industry, especially to young girls who are working. In order to feel "protected" in moments like this, the pop singer said she would often surround herself with other women.

"I try to surround myself with a lot of women, I really do. I do feel like I have been really protected because I have always had my mom with me or I have had someone in the studio with me," she said. (via WFMZ)

Since she experienced "weird situations" in the past, Larsson is now more picky about who she wanted to work with in terms of her music.
