Kanye Omari West was born on June 8, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia. Kanye moved to Chicago, Illinois with his English professor mother after the split of his parents when he was only three years old. As a child, his influencer was Donda West. Donda took young Kanye to China in the late 1980's for an education exchange program participation when the then aspiring rapper was a kid.
As per All Music, Kanye's goal of pursuing a professional music career eventually triggered him to drop out of college. Local producer, No I.D. provided guidance to Ye so the latter could successfully learn the basics of studio production, programming, and sampling, hence, paving the way for Kanye to establish a career as a musician.
