Dua Lipa could definitely dance the night away as she scored a huge win for her high-profile "Levitating" copyright infringement lawsuit. Artikal Sound System, the accuser, filed a motion to the presiding judge to dismiss the lawsuit altogether after it was ruled out initially that they had failed to prove that Lipa had access to their song prior to the creation of "Levitating."

The judge's decision wasn't actually final, as they had the opportunity to refile a new motion. However, after a year of back and forth on the high-profile lawsuit, the accusers yielded back.

Dua Lipa 'Levitating' Lawsuit Dropped By Accusers

According to a Billboard report, the accusers, Artikal Sound System, has asked Judge Sunshine Sykes to "permanently dismiss the case." This came as a rather unexpected move after Judge Sykes initially doubted the allegations they had made; ultimately, they can refile a motion to prove it, a routinary move on their part.

The publication noted that the motion to dismiss did not indicate that Lipa had agreed to any form of payment or even credit change on her smash hit.

Based on Judge Sykes's argument, she doubted that Dua Lipa and her team had access to Artikal Sound System's song "Live Your Life," made in 2015. She wanted Artikal Sound System to prove how Lipa accessed it, but they seemed to be pretty light on the information.

Per a Rolling Stone report, the only defense they had was that the song was "available on physical CDs and streaming platforms" - Judge Sykes said it was "too substantial."

Sykes wanted them to refile and update their argument within two weeks, but the process came quicker than expected as they filed a motion to dismiss it altogether.

"Following the court's decision dismissing their complaint, the plaintiffs voluntarily chose to discontinue the case with prejudice, without any consideration whatsoever from the defendants, who were prepared to vigorously defend any continuation of the case," Dua Lipa's counsel, Christine Lapera said in a statement to Billboard.
