Despite the "hazardous" and concerning quality of air in New York City, the Governors Ball proceeded over the weekend, and the performers proved that it was a risk worth taking.

Here are some of the artists who caught the audiences' attention and brought their jaws to the ground with stunning and flawless visuals and vocals.

During the performances over the weekend, people and fans took a special liking to a particular group who has never graced the stage of the music festival.

Aespa on Governors Ball

One of KPOP's darlings, Aespa, was present at this year's Governor Ball, and despite missing one member, the group delivered.

The South Korean girl group performed a whopping 10 songs during their set, including their chart-topping hits "Next Level," "Black Mamba," the recently released "Spicy," and "Life's Too Short."

Prior to their set, the group announced via social media that Giselle would not be able to make it to the Governors Ball.

"We are sorry to inform Aespa's US fans that Giselle will not be able to join the group for their upcoming Governors Ball performance due to health issues," the statement read.

Another artist who surprised fans was Suki Waterhouse, who unleashed her vocal talent wearing a ruffled top paired with tights.

According to reports, Waterhouse has been upping the ante when it comes to her music career, which she just recently launched after dropping an album last year.

Unlike most of the performances during the music festival, the actress slash singer's was more subdued and simple, but effective. Audiences were captivated by her voice and stage presence.

Lizzo Performance at Governors ball 2023

If Waterhouse's set was demure and simple, this next artist's set was anything but. Lizzo came onstage wearing a sparkly silver dress paired with a glamorous pink wig.

Of course, it would not be a Lizzo set without the singer bringing out her flute, Sasha Flute, onstage for a solo moment.

Another artist who brought her A-game to the Governors Ball is the up-and-coming rising rap star, Ice Spice.

According to reports, the entire crowd sang along to her verse of the viral hit sensation "Boys a Liar Pt. 2."

Kim Pateras was also in attendance, and she did not waste any time stunning the crowd with her undeniable visuals and strong stage presence.
