2023 Tony Awards Winners: 'Kimberly Akimbo' Wins Over 'Some Like It Hot'

Despite being the most nominated production of the night with 13, including Best Musical, "Some Like It Hot" fell short of securing the most awards and the top prize of the night. (via Playbill)

"Kimberly Akimbo," which was only nominated for eight awards, managed to take home five Tonys last night - Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Leading Actress, Best Featured Actress, and Best Original Score.

Meanwhile, "Some Like It Hot," the production widely predicted to take home the top prize, only took home four - Best Leading Actor, Best Choreography, Best Costume Design, and Best Orchestrations.

"New York, New York" and "Shucked" took home one with Best Scenic Design and Alex Newell for Best Featured Actor, respectively.

"Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" grabbed two awards - Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design. Sadly, "&Juliet" failed to take home any award that night despite being nominated for nine awards.
