Since John Lennon didn't make it to the 21st century after he was tragically shot to death in December 1980, many fans remember him through photographs and other old footage. However, many have noticed that the late musician had sad eyes, and Paul McCartney revealed the reason why he had them.

According to Billboard, the musician recently sat down with Conan O'Brien for a podcast episode at the 2023 Tribeca Festival earlier this week.

The rocker has been promoting his new book titled "1964: Eyes of the Storm" which features hundreds of images that have never been seen by the public before, including some photos of The Beatles during the early days of their careers.

In the conversation, McCartney shared the reason why Lennon looked sad in some of the photos, and it appears that there is a deeper reason why he seemed devastated.

Paul McCartney Opens Up About John Lennon's 'Tragic Life'

"[John] had a really tragic life. As a kid, his mother was decreed to not be good enough to bring him up. ... His father had left the home when John was 3. So that's not too wonderful," he said. (via Entertainment Tonight)

The 80-year-old legend added that his old pal had "little minor tragedies" throughout his life and it made him realize why he had that vulnerability within him.

The Beatles New Album in the Works, New Project to Feature John Lennon's Voice

It's been 53 years since The Beatles last released an album and fans can't wait for them to drop a new one this year as McCartney revealed that the group would be dropping a new project. As a bonus, John Lennon's voice would be featured in it; how is it possible?

The musical legend confirmed in an interview with BBC Radio 4's "Today" show that the group's album will be released later this year.

Speaking about how Lennon's voice would be included in the project despite him being deceased, the famed musician said artificial intelligence or AI would play a key role.

"We were able to take John's voice and get it pure through this AI so that then we could mix the record as you would normally do - it gives you some sort of leeway," he explained.

As of this writing, there are still no details regarding the Beatles' new album's release date.
