Cyndi Lauper is keeping her cool even after her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame snub.

Lauper appeared in the nominees' list and joined the top musicians who dominated the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2023 fan vote alongside George Michael, Warren Zevon, Iron Maiden, and Soundgarden. However, the official class of 2023 did not include her name in the end.

After more than 3 million fans cast their votes, Rock Hall clarified that the list would not guarantee an automatic induction - and the final list only had Michael's name among the fan favorites.

During her exclusive interview with People, the 69-year-old "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" hitmaker said that she did not mind missing the chance to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since the induction is a badge of honor she does not need as a musician.

"I need to be able to continue the work and help to make a difference," she said. "You have to remember to be human and help other humans."

Instead of feeling down about the snub, Lauper chose to continue being a rocker and activist as she has fought for LGBTQ+ and women's rights since she started her career.

The "Time After Time" crooner added that nothing would change with her whether or not she gets the badge.

Lauper was among the musicians who got nominated at the Rock Hall for its class of 2023 alongside Iron Maiden, Sheryl Crow, Warren Zevon, Kate Bush, Rage Against the Machine, and Willies Nelson, to name a few. However, not everyone made it to the final inductees.

Amid her busy schedule, Lauper also took her time to promote her documentary, "Let the Canary Sing," following its premiere on June 14.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter,  she opened up about making it to a point in her life where she finally got a real job. Still, she admitted to feeling reluctant about doing it at first because she is "not dead yet."

Despite that, she chose Alison Ellwood to create her story to show the good, bad, and ugly parts of her life and career.
