Richie Sambora's statement about his reunion with Bon Jovi changed recently.

Bon Jovi fans received the best news yet in February when Sambora said they were about to reunite years after he left the band in 2013.

Will Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora Reunite?

Months after Sambora shared the news, he served a new - but different - update when he had a quick interview with "Nights With Alice Cooper" radio show at the Songwriter's Hall of Fame ceremony in Manhattan Thursday.

The interviewer asked the musician about his return, but instead of an update, Sambora offered a different response.

"Naaaah! No, not even close. Nobody asked me yet," he said. "But I could do it tomorrow if they asked me."

Sambora spoke about the potential reunion following his exit from the band due to "personal reasons," which he revealed a few years later that it was because of his psychological maintenance of his family.

He previously told Metro that the band considered inviting him to the Glastonbury Festival after the members finally "healed" the disappointments they suffered after he left.

While waiting for the Bon Jovi reunion, Sambora started focusing on his solo career and recently released his solo album produced by Bob Rock.

As of press time, Bon Jovi is yet to confirm the arrival of new music or a potential show, but the musician also assured fans that he remains on good terms with his former bandmates.

What Happened to Jon Bon Jovi's Voice?

Aside from the lack of updates regarding Bon Jovi's reunion with Sambora, the guitarist also opened up about how Jon Bon Jovi's vocal issues also affect the plans.

In an interview with Absolute Radio, he confirmed that the frontman was indeed having vocal difficulties over the past months.

"Jon was having a hard time with his voice a little bit there and he needed to take a little bit of a breather," he said. "I don't know when Jon's going to get his voice together and [when the Bon Jovi reunion is] going to happen, but we have to get out there and do it for the fans, really."

In 2021, the band's vocalist tested positive for COVID-19 which led him to miss singing for two weeks. The Asbury Park Press consulted several experts who explained why Jon Bon Jovi's vocals changed after the diagnosis.
