Elton John is performing one more time before he officially goes into retirement, which is why his performance at Glastonbury 2023 is so important to his fans; they have to be there. Before the said anticipated however, many also believed that Britney Spears would suddenly be called up to the stage - and who wants to miss that? 

Songs Played, Biggest Audience Ever 

The crowd that Elton John drew is NO joke. 

According to reports, the "Rocket Man" singer announced that he would be accompanied by four special surprise guests for his last performance, and everyone is dying to know which among his numerous collaborators are coming onstage with him.

This highly anticipated performance comes after John admitted that music festivals are not his thing-with the exception of Glastonbury.

"It's too many people for me. I don't like crowds," the singer said. "I have played festivals and I've really enjoyed them. But of course, Glastonbury is the crème de la crème."

The 76-year-old singer performed for two hours on Sunday. Other artists and performers like Blondie and Lil Nas X were also anticipated. 

Elton John's Special Guests: No Britney Spears

According to reports, following the announcement of the special guests, fans have begun speculating, looking back at John's current music releases.

John recently dropped "HoldMe Closer," featuring Britney Spears, and the "Cold Heart" remix with Dua Lipa.

Other artists or performers included in the fan theories are Dolly Parton and Taron Egerton, who played the singer in the 2019 biopic "Rocketman."

Speculating among John's numerous collaborators might prove to be difficult, though. The singer is known to enjoy bringing in another artist from time to time.

Other singers-and rappers-that fans should consider are Lil Nas X, Stevie Wonder, Ozzy Osbourne, Charlie Puth, and Lady Gaga.

John began his set in an emotional way, he brought up his retirement once again, noting that the music festival might be his last show in England.

 

"I never thought I would ever play Glastonbury and here I am," John said. "It's a very special and emotional night for me because it might be my last show ever in England, so I had better play well and I had better entertain you, you've been standing there so long and I really appreciate all the outfits and everything."

He began his set with some of his all-time classics like "Benny and the Jets," "Daniel," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," and "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues."

He then called on his first special guest: Jacob Lusk of Gabriels and The London Community Gospel Choir to perform, "Are You Ready For Love?"

The second special guest was revealed to be Stephen Sanchez. They performed Sanchez hit song "Until I Found You."

The Killers frontman Brandom Flowers was revealed to be John's third special guest of the evening. The pair sang "Tiny Dancer."

"We've been friends ever since. He was the first person I thought of us to come and sing with me," the singer said. "Even though he's played Glastonbury six times with The Killers. "So I'd like to introduce my dear friend, fantastic artist, Brandon Flowers."

Lastly, Rina Sawayama was welcomed onstage by John, before they launched to a duet of "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" as well as Sawayama's song "Chosen Family."
