Britney Spears is a Vegas girl, and now it seems like she's a single lady too. The "Perfume" singer and her boyfriend of a year and a half David Lucado have broken up.
Yesterday, Spears made a pronouncement of her new relationship status on her official Twitter, sparking off rumors that she and Lucado had split.
"Ahhhh, the single life!" she wrote, with little other explanation.
Later, Spears representatives confirmed that she was, in fact, a free agent to Billboard with a very matter-of-fact statement: "Yes, she's single."
The exact reason for the end of Spears' latest relationship is unconfirmed, but there are rumors circulating that Lucado, a lawyer, was less than faithful to the pop superstar.
According to E! News, video surfaced of Lucado cheating on Spears, resulting in her breaking free from the relationship.
And just like any of us, in the wake of a break up, yesterday (Aug. 28) was not a great day for Britney Spears, as she admitted on her Instagram. Despite her broken heart, she found a little something to smile at... hearts on shows.
In a short video, Spears emphasized that yesterday was a truly "s***ty" day, but a friend with little monster hearts on her shoes made everything OK.
Spears is said to be focusing on her children in following her split from Lucado. She's the mother to sons Sean, 8, and Jayden, 7, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Additionally, Spears is in the middle of her Piece Of Me residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Her next show will take place on Saturday, Aug. 30.
