Fans have been worried after Jimmy Buffett was hospitalized and was forced to cancel his shows, but it appears that the musician is doing great now as he surprised a crowd of people with an unexpected performance.

According to USA Today, the musician dropped by the Sunset Cove in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, during the holiday weekend, and people who attended the music event didn't expect him to appear out of nowhere.

Mc McAnally, popularly known for being a member of the Coral Reefer band, was advertised as the lead performer for the show.

During his performance of "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere," which was shared on Facebook, the singer sang the lyrics, "At a moment like this, I can't help but wonder what would Jimmy Buffett do."

Out of nowhere, Buffett went up the stage to pick up the guitar and told fans, "How 'bout I play it for you," then the attendees started standing up and cheering as he continued to have a duet with McAnally.

"Well, it is good to see an audience, let me tell you that," he added.

What Happened to Jimmy Buffett?

in early reports, Buffett performed in Boston, Massachusetts, and had a routine medical check-up in the city.

However, after getting in touch with professionals, he was reportedly hospitalized. It was later announced on his official pages that he had to cancel his May 20 show at the time and would be rescheduled for a different date.

As of this writing, the musician has yet to share the official cause of why he was admitted to the hospital.

Jimmy Buffett Gives an Update

Days after the news of his hospitalization made rounds online, Buffett shared an official statement through his Coral Reefers band page on Facebook.

He took the time to express his gratitude to fans who supported him and sent well-wishes. At the time, he announced that he would be going home the next day and will spend time with his friends on a fishing trip.

Once he recovered from his mysterious medical condition, the singer assured fans that he would be releasing the official dates for his rescheduled shows.

"I think playing is therapeutic for me as it is for fans to listen and sing along," he added.
