"High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" is one of the biggest shows that Disney+ has ever produced since the release of its platform. It helped catapulted the music career of Olivia Rodrigo to greater heights. However, after three exhilarating seasons, the show is about to bid its final curtain call.

As the "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" Season 4 Trailer was released, the new promo revealed much more about what the plot of the show is going to be, and it could be hinting at a grand reunion of the cult-classic franchise!

HSMTMTS Season 4 Trailer Unpacked

East High Drama Musical: High School Musical 3

Among the first things that the new "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" Season 4 Trailer has revealed is that the East High Drama department is going to have "High School Musical 3" as their new musical this year. After taking on the eponymous movie as their first musical on the show, they plan on to take the hit finale as their last one. Notably, in the second and third seasons of "HSMTMTS" they had "Beauty and the Beast" and "Frozen: The Musical."

Returning, New Characters

With Olivia Rodrigo exiting on Season 3, the gap of her character leaves quite a void, as well as Matt Cornett's character graduating. However, Cornett will be reprising his role as EJ Caswell but will be demoted to a guest one, as well as Larry Saperstein and Joe Serafini.

The brother-sister duo of Jet and Maddox, played by Adrian Lyles and Saylor Bell, will also be returning this season as part of the production team of "High School Musical 3."

Meanwhile, Liamani Segura was promoted to a main character after Season 3.

Senior Year Drama

The "HSMTMTS" Season 3 season finale left a huge cliffhanger on Sofia Wylie and Joshua Basset's characters Gina and Ricky. With them finally being a couple, drama ensues, especially with Tony-nominated Julia Lester's character Ashley, who grows suspicious of the two. Dara Renee seemed to also have a personal moment with Monique Coleman on the show as she threads toward Senior Year.

'High School Musical 4: The Reunion'

Perhaps the most awaited part of the season is the return of the OG Cast. Corbin Bleu makes a huge return this season after Season 3, as well as Kaycee Stroh and Lucas Grabeel on Season 1. Meanwhile, Monique Coleman, Alyson Reed, and Bart Johnson also make their first appearances this season!

Original High School Musical Reunion Possible?

With almost half of the original "High School Musical" cast returning, many are curious if Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale will be coming back for the show. While it was not confirmed nor denied if they will be returning, Bart Johnson's character revealed in the trailer that they are bringing the whole cast together.

Cross fingers that the three would arrive even for a brief scene on the last episode of the season, besides, they're making a fictional version of "High School Musical 4: The Reunion," right?
