Olivia Rodrigo explained why she did not remove the line "fam f**ker" from her "Vampire" lyrics, though it almost had a different line.

Rodrigo announced the upcoming arrival of her sophomore album, "GUTS," due on Sep. 8 via Geffen Records, and presented its lead single, "Vampire," on June 30. The album and its lead song serve as follow-ups to her "SOUR" and "drivers license" released in 2021.

For what it's worth, Rodrigo's hit single has the lyrics: "But you made me look so naive / The way you sold me for parts / As you sunk your teeth into me, oh / Bloodsucker, fame f-ker / Bleedin' me dry like a goddamn vampire."

Speaking about the track, the "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" alum old Audacy Check In Thursday that there was a debate whether the line "fame f**ker" should be included in her "Vampire" track.

"Some people said, 'It kind of isolates you from people, you can't really say things like that in song, it's not relatable' - yada, yada, yada, which I totally get and saw where they were coming from," she explained.

However, Rodrigo said she retained the lyrics, especially since she thought the song is not just about "fame f**king" but rather about someone using a person for all their worth through manipulations. The singer went on to explain how fame is a "universal theme" that is "more accessible now" compared to before.

The Grammy-winning singer also told Audacy Check In how "Vampire" plays a huge role in the making of her upcoming album ahead of its release.

She told the news outlet that it is somewhat the same as what she did in "SOUR," but it still offers new topics and attitudes for her fans.

Meanwhile, she previously told Billboard how the public views the song as a new version of a rock opera, to which the singer said it is just a song about someone's feeling after being used.

CD and 7" single versions of "Vampire" feature a demo version as the album's B-side, tagged as the "first demo."
