Paul McCartney will start a new endeavor in his career as he announced the launch of his upcoming podcast, "McCartney: A Life in Lyrics."

The Beatles and McCartney's fans received good news from the musician as he confirmed the arrival of "McCartney: A Life in Lyrics" podcast. The new project will follow his recently-released book, "1964: Eyes of the Storm," which included photos he took amid the Beatlemania fever.

On Pushkin Industries' official YouTube channel, a nearly two-minute trailer shares a glimpse of what fans should expect from McCartney's upcoming podcast, revealing that it will take listeners into the mind of "one of the greatest songwriters of all time."

The clip's description reveals that "McCartney: A Life in Lyrics" will be a "combination master class, memoir, and improvised journey" with the famed musician.

About "McCartney: A Life in Lyrics"

The podcast confirmed its first two seasons, which were co-produced by iHeartPodcasts and Pushkin Industries, with season one to feature 12 episodes. The additional 12 episodes for season 2 will be released in February 2024.

"When we listened back to the tapes, we realized there was something very special happening in these conversations," per Paul Muldoon, who wrote the foreword of the musician's "The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present" book, said. "It was McCartney unfiltered."

Each episode will feature McCartney talking about his work in The Beatles and The Wings as well as his life as a soloist. According to the trailer, the first season of the series will include the stories about "Live and Let Die," "Let It Be," and "Eleanor Rigby," to name a few.

For McCartney, working on the podcast felt like he was going back to an old snapshot album and looking back on work he had not thought about over the past years.

"McCartney: A Life in Lyrics" episode 1 will be released on Sep. 20, 2023, but the whole first season can be accessed immediately by fans with a Pushkin + subscription.

On the other hand, listeners can wait on weekly releases via Apple, Spotify, and iHeartRadio.
