Carlos Santana Bio
Carlos Augusto Santana Alves (professionally known as Carlos Santana) was born on July 20, 1947 in Jalisco, Mexico. Santana is a Mexican guitarist, composer, singer, and band lead who contributed in enhancing the theme of global music through various ethnic components. Carlos is one of the six children of parents, Jose Santana and Josefina Barragan.
At 5 years old, Carlos learned how to play the violin from his father. Carlos started playing the guitar when his family moved to Tijuana.
How Carlos Santana Started His Music Career
In 1961, Carlos Santana moved to San Francisco, California in the United States, as per ImdB. He joined his family in California, whom, at the time moved there in 1960. In 1966, Carlos made his music career debut by joining the Santana Blues Band. Bill Graham promoted the band named after Carlos, "Santana," to perform at the legendary Filmore West in San Francisco. The band's self-titled debut album was released in 1969.

Carlos gained famed after his memorable performance at the Woodstock Music and Art Festival in 1969. This performance was shown in the film called, "Woodstock." A street and public square in the town where Santana hailed called, Autlan de Navarro, is named after the musician. To date, Carlos is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with over 90 million copies of his records sold, and has performed for more than 100 million people in several countries.

Carlos Santana just released his new single, "Energia" for 2023. In the making of the song, Santana collaborated with his son, Salvador, his nephew, Jose Santana, Orlando Torriente, and Piero Amadeo Infante in the said song. Jose shares that "Energia" is an inspirational song dedicated to be an upliftment for the Santana family's friend and the co-executive producer of "Energia", David Richardson, to support him in his previous recovery from Covid-related coma, as per Deltaplex News.
