Post Malone is trying to curb his use of shrooms after he realized that his short-term memory is deteriorating.

In an interview with Apple Music One's Zane Lowe, the "Sunflower" rapper admitted that he has habitually overused psychedelics, "Yeah, I take shrooms. "I like shrooms. I like shrooms. Not as much as I used to.

"It's really affected my short-term memory...Maybe it was just a stint of habitual overuse, like, daily," he continued before explaining that he has now exchanged the shrooms for chocolate bars instead to prevent further damage on his memory.

"But now I take a little bar of chocolate with my buddies, a little square chocolate and just laugh and laugh and laugh."

This is perhaps one of the things Malone has talked about and tried to change about himself and his lifestyle to become a better father to his baby girl.

Post Malone Stops Using Shrooms

Malone then explained how the psychedelics were given to people who experience post-traumatic stress disorder, which was when he realized that it was working a little too well on him, and he did not need those side effects.

"I was talking to a [Army] Ranger buddy of mine," he continued. "He was a Ranger and he was saying they're giving it to guys for PTSD and stuff. And I was like, oh that's cool because a lot of the times, a lot of pharmaceuticals, they have negative reactions often.

"And it's cool to see that they're giving them this medicine and it's actually working. He was saying his buddy was going through it and it really helped him a lot. I don't know. It's interesting because it has improved my view on things."

Malone went on sharing how while he was working on his recent album, he had been habitually using shrooms, and deduced that it was probably psychedelic that caused him to feel "so, so sad."

Post Malone Becomes a Dad

Elsewhere in the interview, Malone talked about fatherhood and gushed about his baby girl.

"I really love hanging out with my baby, hanging out with the lady, playing video games, and in my garage working on projects," he gushed.

"That's what I love to do. And so it hasn't been that hard, but there's times to where you have ... It's that one drink that sets you over."

He welcomed his daughter last year with his fiancee, and revealed that the moment their daughter was born, he automatically went into dad mode, changing his diet and lifestyle to better suit having a baby.
