Lizzo has been praised for years for being a champion of body positivity.

However, the feminist icon's career is now in jeopardy following a lawsuit filed by three of her former support dancers, who accuse her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment.

The 35-year-old singer was sued by her former dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, who claim they forced her to perform sex acts with a banana and that she privately 'weight-shames' all of her dancers.

It stands in striking contrast to Lizzo's public body image, in which she tirelessly promotes body positivity and inclusion.

While Lizzo has stated that these allegations are "false," it does not mean her career is not affected. One can only think of Ellen DeGeneres when one wants to see how workplace and public backlash can do to a career. Although the comedian host is living well now, given all her savings probably, it's still sad to see such an institution's reputation damaged.

The singer described the past few days as "gut-wrenchingly difficult and utterly disheartening."

She said she typically chooses not to respond to false accusations, but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to ignore.

The performers told the BBC that Lizzo is "more of an anti-hero than a villain."

Former dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez are suing the singer, her dance captain, and her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring (BGBT). In addition to religious and racial harassment, the lawsuit also alleges discrimination, assault, and false imprisonment.

Tuesday's lawsuit filed in Los Angeles asserts the dancers were coerced into witnessing sex shows and interacting with other dancers at the shows between 2021 and 2023. Beyoncé may have subtly responded to the recent allegations made against Lizzo and her staff. And as online reactions to the lawsuit increased, fans noted on Tuesday night that Beyoncé omitted Lizzo from the list of past and present music icons she names in her song "Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)," which she regularly performs during her Renaissance Tour.

Due to her namesake program, Ellen DeGeneres was one of the most well-known television personalities for years.

In 2020, however, the comedian's career took a turn for the worse after numerous workplace allegations came to light. Ellen's reputation was tarnished as a result of the allegations, which caused the media to focus on past situations in her career. Two years later, in May 2022, The Ellen DeGeneres Show was cancelled amid significant backlash. People continue to have mixed sentiments about Ellen and whether or not she has been officially canceled, despite the messy conclusion.

It remains to be seen if Lizzo can escape all these relatively unscathed.
