Megan Thee Stallion released a pre-statement ahead of Tory Lanez's now-delayed sentencing.

After years of legal brawls between Megan and Lanez following a 2020 shooting, the court would officially start the sentencing of the Canadian rapper after he was found guilty of the charges. The court determined that Lanez, who could face over a decade of imprisonment, shot the rapper in the foot during the drunken fight.

Megan Thee Stallion's Life Changed After the Shooting

Before the Monday sentencing hearing, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta read Megan's pre-written statement at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

The 28-year-old "Sweetest Pie" rapper said she did not plan to attend the sentencing as she could not afford to be in the same room with her shooter. She also spoke about feeling tormented and terrorized since the incident happened.

The letter, as cited by Rolling Stone, shared Megan's thoughts about the misinformation that had spread over the past months since the incident and trial started. She then accused Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, of attempting to avoid his punishment in the case.

"He paid bloggers to disseminate false information, he treated my trauma like a joke when I could've been dead," she wrote. "He blamed the system, he blamed the press, and as of late, he is using his childhood trauma to justify his actions."

Megan said that, while she is slowly healing from the traumatic experience, she would reportedly never be the same again. Thus, she hopes the court to complement his crime with the full weight of the law.

Lanez will receive a sentence after he was found guilty of first-degree assault with a firearm, having a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence.

He might received more than a decade of a prison sentence after the prosecution asked the judge for a 13-year imprisonment.

The "Cognac Queen" singer previously endured being in the same room as Lanez when the court asked her to take the witness stand in December. At that time, Senior reporter for Rolling Stone, Nancy Dillon, quoted the female rapper saying, "I don't feel good. I can't believe I have to come up here and do this."
