A few weeks ago, Cardi B became the victim of an on-going trend of concert-goers throwing objects at performers. However, unlike other artists who simply turned away or gently told their fans off, Cardi B threw her microphone at the fan.

The controversial microphone was put on eBay, where a fierce auction to buy it went down. The microphone was eventually sold for $99,900 after 122 bids, reports say.

According to Forbes Magazine, the proceeds from the microphone will be split between Friendship Circle Las Vegas and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Friendship Circle Las Vegas is an organization dedicated to providing a fully inclusive and non-judgemental environment for people with disabilities.

Meanwhile, the Wounded Warrior Project is an organization that helps active duty service members, veterans, and even their family members by providing programs and services. It includes physical and mental health, as well as career counseling, and other projects.

Cardi B Almost Charged with Criminal Battery

According to reports, the investigation into the incident between the "WAP" rapper and the fan was dropped due to "insufficient evidence."

"After a thorough review of this case and with the consultation from the Clark County District Attorney's Office, this case has been closed as having insufficient evidence," announced the Las Vegas Police Department.

Last year, Cardi B pled guilty to assault charges that happened in New York in 2018. She had attacked employees of a strip club and was sentenced to 15 days of community service.

Cardi B Fights Back

Cardi B is arguably the first in recent time that has fought back against fans who have been unruly and throwing objects at artists.

According to reports, similar incidents have occurred for weeks before the rapper was hit. In fact, some of the biggest stars in the music industry have fallen victim to it, including Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Drake, Pink, and more.

The string of violence against artists began when Bebe Rexha was performing when a man threw his phone at her, hitting her face, and narrowly missing her eye.

The singer was rushed to the hospital, where she received several stitches on her brow. Her eye was also swollen shut, but she assured fans that nothing major had happened to her physically.

Perhaps now fans would have to think twice before throwing anything at the artist, especially since they do not know how one would react.
