Lollapalooza attendees faced a horrifying incident while on their way to the festival after they got electrocuted while taking photos on train tracks.

Three attendees, who are believed to be in their 20s, jumped onto the tracks while waiting for a train to take them to Grant Park: two of them sustained serious conditions, with one man in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest.

What Happened to the Attendees?

A news outlet shared a graphic video showing the group sitting down in an Illinois train station's third rail, where they got zapped.

The incident reportedly happened in Chicago's Ridgeland Station, which is a few stations away from where the Lollapalooza Festival took place. People saw the teens prior to the electrocution, but no one called the young adults out and expressed their concerns.

A man got electrocuted and clung to the woman beside him as his body continued to shake before they both went limp. A third friend - who was sitting next to them - pulled them off the third rail and helped them get out of the electrified third rail.

The National Weather Service explains that the human body is capable of surviving an average lightning volt that has 300 million volts, though a person can be killed with a typical 50 volts of electricity.

The Oak Fire Department confirmed to Newsweek that the male victim was in critical condition after going into cardiac arrest and was rushed to Loyola Medical Center. Meanwhile, the female victim was also hospitalized but was conscious when the responders arrived.

"The female was then also possibly electrocuted while officials believe she was trying to assist the male victim," the authorities said. "Several other members of the group also jumped down and were able to remove both victims from the tracks."

More details about the incident have not yet been revealed.
