BTS' leader RM is being lynched online for sharing a Frank Ocean song on his Instagram Story that is considered "Islamaphobic."

According to reports, the KPOP idol shared Ocean's song "Bad Religion" from his debut album "Channel Orange."

Fans and netizens took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to demand an apology from RM. They claim that he is listening to a song that disrespects the Islamic faith.

"As a Muslim, I'm a BTS AMRY since 4 years and I love BTS more than you can imagine," a fan wrote. "But this is totally unacceptable. No one can disrespect our Islam. This is the first time I'm hurt by BTS but I do know they can't hurt anyone Everyone makes mistakes. RM apologise to Muslims."

The words "RM apologize to Muslims" were trending on the social media platform.

"I've been a BTS stan for 7 years and this is my first time feeling that hurt and disappointed, this man can't be freaking serious!!!!!! And the ARMY that trending 'Namjoon We love u' please learn to respect people and their religion, this is so stupid," another wrote.

What Does Frank Ocean's 'Bad Religion' Mean?

The lyrics that fans and netizens have latched on to, that allegedly makes the song Islamaphobic is from the chorus, "He said 'Allahu akbar'/ I told him, 'Don't curse me'/ 'Bo Bo, you need prayer'/ I guess it couldn't hurt me/ If it brings me to my knees, it's a bad religion."

However, many of Ocean's fans reject the notion that the song is a jab at the Islamic faith, but rather, the song is about unrequited love.

A netizen shared their interpretation of the song on Reddit: "[...]Frank loves this person so much to the point where he worships him but the other person doesn't feel the same way. He can't accept that and is desperate to change his feelings towards him. Hence why it's a bad religion. ("It's a bad religion to be in love with someone who could never love you")."
