Happy birthday, Shania!

Shania Twain Bio 

Born Eilleen Regina Edwards on August 28, 1965 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Shania Twain started playing the guitar as a child. Shania was raised in a rural town called Timmins, in Ontario. As a little girl, Shania spent most of her time singing, writing, and playing, as per All Music. Shania's parents encouraged her to perform on-stage as her music skills developed, out and about the little town she grew up in. 

Shania would be singing in bars at 1 am even during at an early age. She could only perform in clubs after the bars have paused serving alcoholic drinks. Moreover, Shania also sang on local radio and television stations, and at community events at a young age. 

At 21 years old, both of Shania's parents were killed in a vehicle crash. As a result, Shania took on the responsibility of caring for her four siblings at that time. To pay the bills and support herself and her siblings, Shania took on a job singing at a resort located in Deerhurst. As she earned a substatial amount of money from this job, Shania was able to buy a house where she and her family finally settled down. 

How Shania Twain Started Her Music Career 

During such a time that Shania's siblings were able to live independently, the then-aspiring Canadian singer started to put together an assembly of a demo tape of her songs. Twain utilized these resources at a showcase concert in Canada that her manager arranged. 

Shania was discovered in this showcase concert, and, thus, not too long after moving forward, she was signed on to Mercury Nashville. Shania's debut album was released in 1993. Although her debut album wasn't an instant hit, it performed fairly good in the United States. Shania's debut album spawned the two singles called, "What Made You Say That" and "Dance with the One that Brought You."

Shania Twain Hits, Accomplishments, and Accolades 

Shania's then-husband, record producer, Robert John "Mutt" Lange, worked with the singer on her second album. Shania's sophomore album, "The Woman in Me" was released during the spring of 1995. The fourth single off this album, "(If You're Not In It for Love) I'm Outta Here!" shoot up to the top spot of the chart by the end of 1995. In early 1996, the single,"No One Needs to Know" was her third hit to reach the number one spot of the chart. 

"The Woman in Me" sold more than six million copies, and was the first album to had stayed at number one for most weeks on the country music charts. Country Music Television Europe named Shania Twain "Rising Video Star of the Year." 

Shania Twain 'Come On Over' Album is 25 Years Old 

Shania Twain's "Come on Over" album celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, as per a CNN article. To commemorate the occasion, the singer released a deluxe reissue of the album's version on August 25th via Mercury/UMe records, according to Consequence Sound.
