If you're staying tuned on the 2024 United States presidential election campaign trail, you will have stumbled upon Republican hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy who rapped "Lose Youself" in his hometown in Iowa.

Since his video clip channeling Slim Shady, Ramswamy's buzz increased, especially on social media. Now, he seemed to be getting shady toward Eminem after receiving an unflattering demand from his team.

Vivek Ramaswamy Dissed Eminem After 'Lose Yourself' Demands

Speaking to MSNBC on Aug. 30, 2023, Republican hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy seemed to take a jab at Eminem after being asked about his thoughts upon receiving a cease-and-desist order from the hip-hop icon.

"I'll respect his wishes," Ramaswamy affirmed, before launching a subliminal tirade: "But I'll just say, will the real Slim Shady please stand up?"

Ramaswamy then continued to point out how similar he and Eminem with each other.

"Eminem, in his rise, used to be a guy who stood up to the establishment and said the things that the establishment didn't want him to say," he explained.

Ramaswamy also suggested that the possible reason for the seeming animosity may be because Eminem has different political viewpoints.

For those who do not know, Eminem has been a left-leaning American. Notably, he endorsed current President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris at the 2020 US presidential elections after lending his song "Lose Yourself" to an ad released before election day. (via Distractify)

But for Ramaswamy, he thinks that it's not too late for Eminem to flip.

"I think people will change over the course of their lives. But I have hope for him, that he will one day rediscover the renegade that made him great. And I'm rooting for that success in his life," he continued to say.

Eminem Sends Vivek Ramaswamy A Cease-and-Desist Letter

On Aug. 13, 2023, Ramaswamy rapped "Lose Yourself" at the Iowa State Fair, impressing new supporters and generating buzz around his name.

Since then, he received a cease-and-desist letter from music licenser BMI, demanding him to stop singing the said song.

"BMI will consider any performance of the Eminem Works by the Vivek 2024 campaign from this date forward to be a material breach of the Agreement for which BMI reserves all rights and remedies with respect thereto," the letter said.

Ramaswamy then reacted to a The Daily Mail article reporting the said letter, quote-tweeting a user who claimed that Eminem looked like a dork and that he made Vivek cool.
