It has been 10 years since New Kids on the Block has released any new music; after they released their seventh studio album, "10," in 2013, fans have only heard of rumors about their reunion but never saw it happen-until now.

According to reports, the American boy group, which is sometimes referred to as NKOTB, has reunited to release a reissued version of their sixth studio album, "The Block," for its 15th anniversary.

"The Block" was released in September 2008, and it sold over 95,000 copies in the first week of its release; it also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Album chart and No. 2 on the Billboard 200

It includes the singles "Summertime," "Single" featuring Ne-Yo, "Dirty Dancing," and "2 in the Morning."

The album is considered one of the most monumental releases of NKOTB especially since it is their first studio album in 14 years.

New Kids on the Block Collab With KPOP's SEVENTEEN

While the genre and age gap between NKOTB and SEVENTEEN is significant, the two groups have several major things in common, and that is being a successful boy group.

This is probably why NKOTB has decided to enlist the KPOP group to collaborate with them on a new song off the reissued anniversary version of "The Block."

NKOTB teased the upcoming collaboration on their social media accounts with a video that included a snippet of the upcoming song as well as the words NKOTB and SEVENTEEN flickering back and forth.

New Kids on the Block's 'The Block Revisited'

The upcoming album will be called "The Block Revisited" and will reportedly include a touching audio recording from Mark Wahlberg's late mother, Alma, and Joey McIntyre's late father, Tom.

Wahlberg's mother was a monumental figure for NKOTB, as she had been there every step of the way as the band progressed and rose to stardom.

"She made no apologies for who she was, but never put herself above anyone else. She kicked our butts if we messed up, kicked anyone else's butts if they messed with us. Taught us right, made us pay the price when we were wrong," Donnie Wahlberg said of his late mother. "She was the epitome of the word grace."

Alma passed away at age 78 in 2021, while Tom died at age 87 in 2018.
