Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor shared his latest health update as he battles Stage 4 prostate cancer.

Taylor's health issue affected his previous schedules, including Duran Duran's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2022. He, fortunately, found a treatment to manage his incurable diagnosis and updated fans after starting to receive it.

Andy Taylor's Health Update

In his interview with Daily Express, Taylor assured his fans he has been doing well while dealing with the dreaded illness. He added that he does not feel any pain since he began the treatment.

"The medicine is working and I'm asymptomatic," he shared. "I've still got a way to go, but I'm pretty free of it all. If I had pain, I'd know about it, but I don't need the painkillers I used to have to take. My balance is better too."

The Duran Duran guitarist has been trying the treatment developed in Germany by Welsh scientist Christopher Evans, which involves undergoing intravenous administration of radioactive chemicals into his system. The treatment is not available on the NHS as of press time.

Taylor previously called his battle a "death sentence" as he was never prepared for it. He initially experienced arthritis-like pain while he was jogging before starting to notice more symptoms, including lumps on his neck.

Before going asymptomatic, the musician almost received palliative and end-of-life care, but the treatment helped him get back on his feet again somehow.

Andy Taylor Receives Help From Simon Le Bon

Elsewhere in the interview, Taylor revealed that Duran Duran singer Simon Le Bon helped him pay for his care.

"Simon called me up one day and said, 'I want to help you with this. You've been off the scene for quite a few years. Let us help,'" he said. "That's what mates are for and I'd do the same for Simon."

He revealed that his bandmates have been doing great while looking after him, as well.

"Many families have experienced the slow burn of this disease and of course, we are no different; so I speak from the perspective of a family-man but with profound humility to the band, the greatest fans a group could have and this exceptional accolade," he previously said before the band's induction.
