Zach Bryan achieved a major career milestone after his self-titled album, "Zach Bryan," topped the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Bryan's country-rock record is now the biggest rock album in the last four years and the latest rock effort to hit No. 1 since Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2021.

Zach Bryan Billboard 200

According to Billboard, "Zach Bryan" launched atop the chart with 200,000 equivalent album units.

Streaming units are what powered the album to the top, with 181,000 attributed to it - which has the equivalent of 233.09 million streams. It was reported to be the largest streaming week in chart history for a rock album, and the fifth-largest streaming debut fram for a country album.

Album sales are quite meager at this point with only 17,000 album sales. This is because the album was only released digitally. It is expected to soar again on Oct. 13, 2023, when the physical CD and vinyl LP were released. Track units only reached 2,000.

Notably, it is the first rock album to debut at No. 1 since Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Unlimited Love" in April 2022. It is also the biggest rock album in 4 years. The last one to achieve a similar frame was in 2019 - Tool's acclaimed album "Fear Inoculum" - which amassed 270,000 album units.

Additionally, "Zach Bryan" logged the biggest debut streaming activity for a rock album in chart history, and the fifth-largest for a country album overall.

Country music has seen a huge uptake in consumption very recently as both the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts are ruled for weeks by Morgan Wallen, among many other country artists.
