Miley Cyrus recently opened up about her 2014 "Bangerz Tour," which saw her investing significant money into the production.

Due to its extravagance, the singer-songwriter confessed that she "didn't make a dime" from the tour.

Almost 10 years ago, the former Disney channel child star's arrival on stage each night was no exception - with Miley sliding down a giant replica of her tongue that stuck out from the side of a mouth.

Miley was determined to make her tour successful, even though it could have been more financially beneficial.

Despite this, the tour was still able to gross a whopping $62.9million.

But speaking The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column, the "Hannah Montana" star confessed, "It was an investment in myself. Many of these ideas were so outlandish that no one wanted to support me in making these items."

This drive and ambition ultimately proved successful for the actress-singer.

She further explained that arriving on stage by sliding down a giant facsimile of her tongue, Miley's show was extravagantly furnished with giant puppets and oversized beds.

Even though there would be no financial gain from this tour, she claimed it had to be perfect; when people asked why they put so much effort into something for which there was no return, the "Party In the USA" hitmaker made it clear that excellence was her top priority during her tour.

She said, "I said there is no one I would rather invest in than myself. I paid for everything to make it exactly what the fans and I deserved."

In a candid interview for the "Used To Be Young" series on TikTok, released alongside her new song of the same name, the renowned pop star discussed what she finds to be one of the most challenging aspects of being an artist - growing older.

Miley Cyrus explained why this can be so challenging for someone in such a field and opened up about various reasons.

In May, she announced that they would be taking a break from concerts.

She further shared that although being able to perform for such large crowds was an honor, their true passion lies in something else.

Miley stated her social media position: "For clarity, I feel connected to my fans NOW more than ever."

She expanded further on this concept by discussing how touring affects her life. "What people don't understand about touring is that 'show time' only lasts 90 minutes, but that's your life."
