Fans were excited for Polo G to release his new album this year, but following his run-in with the law, he announced that the upcoming musical project would be delayed; when will it be released?

According to Complex, the rapper's new album "Hood Poet" was scheduled to be available for purchase and streaming on September 15.

However, he had two felony arrests over the past few months which ultimately led to his decision to delay the record. It also hindered him from promoting the album.

In a statement posted on his official Instagram account, he wrote, "imma be postponing my album drop til further notice...just gettin back on track from a minor set back."

He added that he would give updates, and he would drop new music soon.

"Ik y'all been waitin on me & I appreciate the ones who show genuine support but it'll be worth the wait I promise," he added.

As of this writing, the social media post has been taken down. It's unclear if he deleted or archived the announcement.

What Happened to Polo G?

According to Sportskeeda, the rapper was arrested along with his brother, Trench Baby, last month.

They were charged with felonies which included assault, kidnapping, and illegal possession of a shotgun. The arrests were made in connection to an incident that happened in April this year.

"They were taken into custody without incident and have since been released on $100,000 bail. Formal charges are pending review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office," Burbank police said in a statement.

In a statement, his attorney denied all charges, saying that the incident was not directly about Polo G, but rather about a person who was staying at his house.

"We look forward to challenging the accusations and the vindication of our client," the lawyer added.
