Happy birthday, Ludacris!

Ludacris Bio 

Christopher Brian Bridges (professionally known as Ludacris) was born on September 11, 1977 in Champaign, Illinois. As a teen, Ludacris moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and was a student in Banneker High School in the said city. When the aspiring musician reached his college years, he enrolled in Georgia State University, as per All Music. 

How Ludacris Started His Music Career 

Ludacris' breakthrough in the music, and the rap industry, itself, happened via radio. Ludacris worked as a disc jockey in an urban-based radio station in Atlanta called, Hot 97.5 (the radio station's name later changed into Hot 107.9). Ludacris' radio name for this job was DJ Chris Lova Lova. The musician's new radio job paved the way for him to had become connected with fellow rapper, Timbaland. 

Ludacris was featured in Timbaland's song, "Fat Rabbit", off the latter musician's album, "Tim's Bio" (1998). At that time, Ludacris' name credit on the music project appeared as "Ludichris". Moving forward, Ludacris went on to record an independent album called "Incognegro" (1999). The rapper released this album regionally on his own via the record label, Disturbing Tha Peace. "Incognegro" fared excellently on the chart, in that Ludacris got the opportunity to potentially sign a record contract with Def Jam records after he was acquainted with Scarface of the Geto Boys. Scarface was a representative of Def Jam at the time.

Ludacris Hits and Accomplishments 

"Incognegro" broke into the Billboard 200 chart. In 2000, Def Jam records re-released "Incognegro", but, in a different album name version. Def Jam renamed "Incognegro" as "Back for the First Time", upon its re-release. The record label added some new songs in the album's new version. These songs were "Stick 'Em Up", "Southern Hospitality," and a remix of "Fat Rabbit" (retitled as Phat Rabbit). 

The lead single off Ludacris' debut album,"What's Your Fantasy?" reached number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100, while "Southern Hospitality" reached the number 23 spot of the chart. "Back for the First Time" crawled atop the number four spot of the Billboard 200. 

Ludacris' sophomore album, "Word of Mouf" (2001) reached number three of the Billboard 200. 

Ludacris Appears in Patoranking's New Album 

Ludaris, alongside Popcaan and Beenie Man, are featured in Nigerian musician, Patoranking's newly released album, "World Best." As per The Rolling Stone, this album was released on September 6th.
