Oliver Anthony was supposed to perform at a bar in Knoxville, Tennessee, but he decided to cancel his appearance after he had a disagreement with the management due to the ticket prices; what happened?

Taking to his official Instagram account, the "Rich Men North of Richmond" singer shared a video of himself telling fans that he had to pull off on the side for the road to record the clip and explained what happened at his supposed show which was scheduled on September 27.

He warned fans to not buy tickets from the venue, Cotton Eyed Joe, as they were priced at $99 while meet and greet costs $199.

"Don't buy Cotton Eyed Joe tickets for $99 dollars apiece. And sure as hell, don't buy VIP passes for whatever (BS) price they're on," he said. (via Knox News)

In the caption, he further revealed that he saw the Facebook announcement and he was disappointed about it.

"This will get straightened out tonight. Hold off on buying tickets for now," he added in the caption.

He later commented on his video, telling fans that the show had been canceled, and he apologized for the inconvenience and promised his supporters that he "will do better next time."

Oliver Anthony Ticket Issue: Venue Speaks Out About the Matter

Later on, the venue, Cotton Eyed Joe, took to their official Facebook account to address the issue, saying that the singer agreed to perform for an hour for $120,000 and they were responsible for the ticket price to "break even."

They added that there were times that they had to cancel shows in the past due to circumstances beyond their control, but they officially confirmed that Oliver Anthony's show is canceled under their full control.

"To our talent agency and promotor friends that follow us ... be careful booking the North Man of Richmond," they added. (via Knoxville News)

Oliver Anthony NEW Knoxville Show is More Affordable

After the issue between the singer and the venue, the singer announced a new show in Knoxville.

According to his official website, he will now perform at the Knoxville Convention Center on September 29, 2023. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. while the show will begin at 6:30 p.m.

WVLT reported that tickets are priced at $25, and meet-and-greet for fans are free of charge.
