TLC may no longer be releasing new music, but their legacy lives on, and their upcoming projects are proof of that.

"We're working on a Broadway play!" Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins excitedly announced, People magazine reported.

"The cool thing, we do have a lot of people that worked on Hamilton working with us for ours," Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas added.

However, before fans could begin to ask questions during the event at Tampa Convention Center in Florida over the weekend, Watkins quickly noted, "That means we'll have music for the play and a TV show we can't talk about."

TLC's Legacy in Music

TLC consists of Watkins, Thomas, and the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes; they are a girl group that was formed in 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia.

They release several hit songs like "Creep," Waterfalls," "No Scrubs," and "Unpretty."

They are one of the best-selling American girl groups, boasting several certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America or RIAA, as well as from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for their third studio album, "FanMail."

To this day, TLC's songs are some of the most well loved songs in the R&B genre, especially "Waterfalls," which left a lasting impact in pop culture as well as during the AIDS crisis.

"I was like, you can come and talk to me. She was in tears already. She was like, 'I just want to tell you that your song 'Waterfalls' saved my life," Thomas recalled.

"'I was contemplating suicide.' And then she had me crying and I hugged her, you know? And I was so thankful that our body of work was affecting people in the most positive way."

Thomas went on to explain how much this song also meant to the group: "We felt that from our hearts, especially during those times when the [sic] AIDS was just out of control. ... No one was talking about it."

TLC Makes a Comeback

There is not a lot of information about TLC's upcoming projects, especially the television show, but fans are already hyped up.

That, partnered with the fans' reminiscing about the girls' past releases and success, fans cannot wait to see more from TLC again.

As it happens, "Unpretty" peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 24 years ago on this date.

"Worldwide, 'Unpretty' reached number one in Iceland for a week and peaked within the top 10 in Australia, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK," a fan wrote. "The song's message and music video resonated with everyone across the world."
