Motley Crue guitarist John 5 dropped a new update regarding the band's upcoming material.

In collaboration with legendary producer Bob Rock, Motley Crue started gearing up to release a new album - the first project without Mick Mars. John 5, who replaced the founding guitarist amid his health problems, spoke about the progress in a new interview.

Motley Crue's Songs "Are So Good," John 5 Says

In his interview on Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF radio station, John 5 shared details about the three new songs he and his Motley Crue bandmates worked on with Rock, including "Dogs of War" and a cover of Beastie Boys' "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)"

While John 5 revealed he does not know when the new material will come out, he hyped fans by saying that the songs have already been recorded, mixed and mastered. He added that everyone is so good when they worked on the tracks.

" I don't know if we'll just release singles or an album. It's up to those guys, so I don't know. We just record and see what happens. But these songs we recorded are so good; they're heavy and the melodies and everybody's just killing it on these songs."

According to the guitarist, they made it together while the bandmates sat in a room. Although he already worked with Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee in the past, he noted that working with Rock was new to him.

To hype the fans even more, John 5 said he could not wait for the songs to come out as they sound "heavy and mean" and that it is better than the band's breakthrough second album, "Shout At the Devil."

John 5 Receives Love From Motley Crue Members

Although John 5 has yet to release his first album as Motley Crue guitarist, Vince Neil said everyone is loving him already.

"We really love John. He was ready to play the set before we even hired him; he knows all the MÖTLEY CRÜE songs," the musician told AXS TV. "He knew everything down to the letter. So we didn't have to do a lot of rehearsing for the stadium tour, because he was right there."

He also started touring with the band while working on the album.
