Matteo Bocelli just released his debut album, "Matteo," and unlike his father, Andrea Bocelli, he is striking out on his own in the pop genre.

"Matteo" is his first release since 2018's "Fall On Me," and fans are eagerly anticipating what the singer's sound will be; despite the pressure of being the son of an iconic singer, Bocelli hopes to separate himself as a new and different artist.

"I have realized the importance of really believing in yourself and who you are, not trying to change for others or their approval," the singer told V Magazine.

"Being authentic is so important when creating music because the audience is able to tell fairly quickly when you create something that is not true to you.

"If you don't believe in what you are creating, how can you expect others to believe in it too?"

Matteo Bocelli Drops New Album

According to reports, the new album boasts 12 tracks, and "serves as a love letter" to his culture and identity, which is why the songs are a mix of Italian and English.

The reason why he named the new album "Matteo" is because he wants to introduce himself to the world as his own person and as a solo artist.

"It's been a period of huge creative and emotional development, and I'm really excited for you all to finally hear it," he explained.

"Working on this album was a great outlet for me during tricky times. I was able to put all my feelings and emotions to paper and dive into this project. As a result, I was able to create an album that I hope provides others the chance to get to know me a bit better."
