Weeks before Doja Cat released her new album "Scarlet," the musician was involved in an issue after online users have accused her of copying the album art of a metal band. Following this, the rapper then shared an update and changed the artwork with a completely different one, but still evoked the first version.

However, despite the drama that embroiled almost a month ago, newly-released merchandise available on her official website shows that the original artwork that drew flak was up for sale.

As posted by Pop Crave on X (formerly known as Twitter), the rapper is currently selling a limited edition box set on her website which featured the initial album art.

The box set includes a shirt with Doja Cat's print on it as well as a standard CD.

As of this writing, it's unclear if the rapper removed it from her store as it is not listed on her website anymore.

Doja Cat 'Scarlet' Album Cover Drama

In early reports, Doja Cat unveiled the official album cover of "Scarlet" in August 2023. Upon being posted, fans immediately noticed that it looked similar to a German metal band's new album.

The group Chaver's record "Of Gloom" also featured the same illustration of a pink-hued spider, but the only difference between the two was the blood droplet on top of it as Doja Cat's was shaped like a teardrop while the other one was a plain circle.

Another factor to note was the difference between the color of the background and while the rapper's album was plain, the band's version has the text of their name on top.

Doja Cat, Chaver's Album Covers Were Both Illustrated by the Same Artist

Regardless of the accusations against Doja Cat, both artworks of the two albums were illustrated by the same artist.

The artist named Dusty Ray constantly shares his illustrations on his official Instagram account which commonly revolved around the theme of animals, bugs, and more.

Although he never addressed the issue about the rapper, many people noted that the spider featured on "Scarlet's" first version was posted on the social media platform in 2018.

Doja Cat's "Scarlet" and Chaver's "Of Gloom" both dropped in September 22, 2023, and are currently available for streaming on major music platforms online.
