One of the biggest and most enduring power couples in the music industry is Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. The "The Voice" power couple coaches continue to inspire younger couples and their fans today with their love for each other.

But before their love became what it is now, Stefani had to endure a painful journey of self-discovery during her divorce from Gavin Rossdale.

Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale Divorce

For those who do not know, Gwen Stefani met Bush vocalist and guitarist Gavin Rossdale in 1995 when No Doubt and Bush performed together at a KROQ radio station. In 2002, the music power couple tied the knot at St. Paul's Covent Garden in London, and another one in Los Angeles.

Sharing three sons together, the world was shocked when Stefani, after 13 years of marriage with Rossdale, filed for divorce, citing the usual "irreconcilable differences." In 2016, their divorce was finalized and the Bush vocalist agreed to the "unequal split" of their assets.

Speaking to People Magazine recently, Stefani recalled the pain she felt back then.

"Everybody pretty much knows that at one point my life fell apart. It was terrible, and there's so many people out there that have gone through the same thing," she remembered. "When that happened, I had to literally start over again. It was a reset of my life."

At that point, Stefani said that with the power of makeup, she was able to overcome the idea of feeling less as it gave her the confidence and creative power to feel free no matter what her age.

Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton Relationship

Eventually, when she and Blake Shelton met at The Voice in 2014, fresh from his divorce from Miranda Lambert, the two bonded, thanks to Carson Daly too. They announced that they were dating in 2016. They married in 2021.

"When I [started dating] Blake, that's when I felt home, like, 'Oh, this is where I'm supposed to be, with this guy,'" she went on to recall to People Magazine.

To this day, Stefani maintains that she didn't see her relationship with Blake coming - describing it as an "amazing gift to experience love like that for the first time."

Now, Stefani is proud of Shelton for stepping up and becoming a stepfather to her three sons whom she shares with Rossdale. Shelton has stepped down from his stint as a coach on "The Voice" to prioritize his family and take more time on their ranch in Oklahoma.
