Billboard reports that Broadway star Idina Menzel has announced the release date for her upcoming Christmas album. Holiday Wishes, the Frozen star's first ever Christmas album, is set for release on Oct. 14. The album is produced by Walter Afanasieff, who has also worked with Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion.

According to a press release, via Billboard, some of album's songs include "A Holly Jolly Christmas," "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," and Joni Mitchell's "River," which is reportedly one of Menzel's favorites. At least one original song, titled "December Prayer," will also be included.

Menzel will be joining the ranks of Barbra Streisand and Barry Manilow, among others, as one of the many prominent Jewish singers who have nonetheless decided to release a Christmas album. "I know I'm Jewish," Menzel said during a show at Radio City Music Hall earlier this summer, "But a lot of famous Jewish people have written Christmas songs, so I'm going to try out some of their songs on the album."

One of the most famous Christmas songs by a Jewish songwriter is Irving Berlin's "White Christmas," so there's a fair chance that Menzel will be including it on Holiday Wishes as well.

Menzel can be currently seen in the Broadway musical If/Then, which has earned her a Tony nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Next Spring, she will be reprising her role as Elsa in the Disney short film Frozen Fever.

Idina Menzel's last studio album, I Stand, was released all the way back in 2008. Holiday Wishes will be her fourth studio album overall.
