U2 just launched their highly-technological and modern Las Vegas residency titled "U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere" and many fans are hoping for the group to release a new album in the near future. In a recent interview, Bono and The Edge teased supporters that new music is possible.

The two musicians recently spoke with Apple Music's Zane Lowe where they opened up about the possibility of releasing a new album.

Bono noted that the Edge has "about 100 [song ideas] in the bag and I have about 20." On the other hand, Adam Clayton has something to contribute as well.

Regarding Larry Mullen's contribution, Bono said his bandmate would only sit down and critique whatever they play.

"If we want to continue as a band, it's only about one thing: it's about the text, it's about the tunes, it's about the performance, it's about whether you believe us or not," Bono said about their future.

U2 New Album Coming Soon?

Elsewhere in the conversation, the Edge noted that the band has a lot of music ready, but some of them needed some editing first.

The musician said, "There's a lot that we have ready and some that need a little dusting off, but will be ready soon." (via The Music Universe)

He further teased fans as he added, "So, I tell you, we got some amazing new songs."

As of this writing, U2 has not given an official release date for the release of their next single or album. However, they were able to give fans a taste of their new sound a few weeks ago when they dropped "Atomic City."

The last time U2 released an album was earlier in March 2023 titled "Songs of Surrender" produced by Edge himself.

U2 Live at the Sphere

U2 is the first-ever musical act to perform at the Sphere at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas.

The venue itself is ultra-modern as it reportedly cost a whopping $2.3 billion to build. It was also dubbed as the world's biggest spherical structure.

Passerbys in Sin City could spot the venue from afar as the spherical building has a massive LED screen flashing althroughout.

On the inside, it also has an ultra-HD LED screen to entertain fans whenever they visit.

U2 still has scheduled shows until December of this year and more details about their Las Vegas residency could be found on the Sphere's official website in this link.
