Exciting talks about the 2024 Academy Awards are already stirring up conversation online.

In advance of the official announcements, it has been reported that both Beyonce and Taylor Swift's concert films will not be part of the eligible entries for this year's Oscars.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has specified that neither concert films nor similar projects are eligible for consideration in the "Documentary Feature Film" nomination process. This ruling applies to all submissions, leaving no room for exception.

What makes Taylor Swift and Beyonce's concert films unconventional for the Oscars? According to the 96th Academy Awards regulations, for a film to qualify as a documentary, it must "artistically portray cultural, artistic, historical, social, scientific, economic or other subjects."

Consequently, this disqualifies Taylor Swift and Beyonce's concert films from consideration.

"It may be photographed in actual occurrence, or may employ partial reenactment, stock footage, stills, animation, stop-motion or other techniques, as long as the emphasis is on fact and not fiction."

The 96th Academy Awards nominations will not feature promotional or instructional movies.

This is specified in Part B of the Special Rules Section, which also states that works that are essentially unfiltered records of performances are ineligible.

Both films failed to cut Best Documentary Feature, as the final date for digital submission ended on October 2, according to a report from Variety, that was the last chance to get these movies in contention.

As part of her "Eras" Tour, Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour" concert film features standout songs from all ten of her albums. This incredible concert series allows fans to experience her remarkable performances firsthand.

She wrote on Twitter, "The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far, and I'm overjoyed to tell you that it'll be coming to the big screen soon."

In "Renaissance: A Film By Beyonce," viewers are immersed in the singer's world tour. From her background rehearsals, audiences are given intimate glimpses into her life with family members in tow, leading up to the grand opening show until the final finale.

Reaction to The Academy's bylaws produced an outcry online as people lauded Taylor Swift and Beyonce - labeling them both "Queens already."

Supporters of the two singers argued that they do not need to receive Oscars to prove their immense talent.

Tweets of support have been pouring in, one stating, "They don't need it to be icons."

Another echoed this sentiment by noting that Beyonce and Taylor Swift had an incredible year with or without the Oscars.

A suggestion was made that there should be a new addition to the Oscars categories to recognize outstanding concert films, which are often part of today's music stars' world tours.

"Fascinating! The Academy Awards have set standards for their awards, but it is always possible for them to introduce new genres into their prize-giving."

Another wrote, "Wonder if a new category will be made as a result."
