Christina Aguilera was questioned about whether she believes she will be included in Britney Spears' upcoming autobiography "The Woman in Me" during a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

"Dude, I don't know," Christina told the host Jimmy Kimmel. "I don't know."

But does she hope to be in it, she was also asked.

"I don't know," the Grammy winner continued. "Am I hoping? I mean, I'm hoping that, you know, everything is all good with her and everything's beautiful. I think the future should be celebrated."

Jimmy didn't stop there, though.

The late-night presenter jokingly said he'd love to be featured in the book if given the option after asking Christina whether she would prefer to be left out of the book or included.

"Let's put it this way," Christina replied. "I'd rather be it you than me. So hopefully you'll be in it. You'll make the book."

Although there has been some conflict between Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears over the years, the "Beautiful" singer wants to put the past behind her and move on. Spears and Aguilera launched their debut singles in 1998 and 1999, respectively, following their early 1990s on-screen encounter as teenage cast members of The All New Mickey Mouse Club.

The two were frequently put against one another as the biggest stars in the early aughts pop culture, especially after Aguilera released "Dirrty" in 2002. "It's hard to hear yourself being called names," Aguilera told Cosmopolitan in September 2018. "I remember being hurt by these commercials on MTV, pitting Britney as the good girl and me as the bad girl. It's like, if I'm going to be demure and innocent, that's okay. But if I'm going to just be myself, I'm trouble."

The "Genie in a Bottle" singer and Spears became enraged by all of these analogies, and both of them publicly attacked the other. Spears said to Blender about her relationship with the "Fighter" singer: "When someone has been disrespectful to you so many times, it's like, 'You know what, Christina, I'm really not into the phony anymore. In contrast, Aguilera called the Crossroads actress a "lost little girl" in an interview with the publication that same year. But the music singers appeared to put the argument behind them in the years that followed.

After a protracted and widely reported legal struggle, Aguilera said in January 2022 that she "couldn't be happier" that Spears' 13-year conservatorship had ended. During a guest appearance on The Enrique Santos Show, the Burlesque performer said, "I would love to [speak to Britney], I would always be open to that." "It's a subject that I definitely want to be careful of because I never want to speak out of turn about somebody that I have so much respect and admiration for. But, I'm so happy [for her]."

Although Spears has previously accused the "What A Girl Wants" singer of failing to support her, she hasn't publicly responded to the offer. "I cherish and love each and every person that helped me. However, keeping quiet when you know the truth is the same as lying!!!!!," the "Stronger" performer remarked on her Instagram Story in November 2021.
