Britney Spears is thinking back to the events that finally resulted in her divorce from Kevin Federline. The 41-year-old pop artist alleges in her autobiography, "The Woman in Me," that Kevin was a star-hungry individual.
In the book, Britney recalls a day when her ex "came home late and told me he'd been at a party."
"He exclaimed, "Justin Timberlake was there. And Lindsay Lohan was! Kevin was so mesmerized by the celebrity and influence."
She continued, "Again and again in my life I've seen fame and money ruin people, and I saw it happen with Kevin in slow motion."
Additionally, Britney claims that Kevin eventually stopped communicating with her and avoided her, saying that he preferred to act as though she didn't exist. This marked a significant change from the way their relationship began, following their initial meeting at a club. "There was a connection between us -- something that made me feel like I could escape everything that was hard in my life," she states.

She shared that he has held me for hours in a pool the very first night they have met, and it wasn't just sexual in nature. The topic wasn't lust. It was personal, which made her fall for him hard.
Additionally, Britney claims that being around Kevin made her feel "safe, alive, and sexy all at the same time." She believed no one had ever possessed that level of magnetism.
However, there were early warning signs that Britney claims she disregarded, such as when she claimed to have "no idea" that her new boyfriend was the father of a toddler with another kid on the way.
"I was clueless. I was living in a bubble, and I didn't have a lot of good, close friends to confide in and get advice from," she writes. "I had no idea until after we'd been together for a while and someone told me. 'You know he has a new baby, right?' I didn't believe it, but when I asked, he told me it was true. He told me he saw them once a month... I had no idea."
Nevertheless, they remained together, and Kevin even went on tour with her. In the autumn of 2000, they were married. Later, Britney welcomed Jayden James in 2006 and Sean Preston in 2005. Britney and Kevin "grew more and more estranged" after their kids were involved.

Kevin and his wife Victoria, along with his and Britney's sons, moved to Hawaii earlier this year, as ET previously reported. After Kevin brought up the idea earlier this year, Britney agreed to the move back in May.
