Nicki Minaj's fans will have to wait until December for the highly anticipated "Pink Friday 2" album because she just pushed back its release date.

"It will come out on my birthday," Minaj revealed in a recent social media update. "Pink Friday 2 I am so happy to announce will be out on my birthday, Dec 8th."

The album, which is a follow-up to the rapper's debut studio album, "Pink Friday," was supposed to be released on Nov. 17.

While the "Super Bass" rapper did not exactly explain why she decided to postpone the new album's release, she did gush about it and how much it means to her.

"I have never in my life been so in love with something that I'm working on," Minaj said. "So this entire album will be the biggest gift I have ever given humanity thus far."

Nicki Minaj's New Album 'Pink Friday 2'

"Pink Friday 2" is an album that has been five years in the making, and Minaj wants everything about the album to be perfect, and that it will make people "fall in love immediately."

The album will have to live up to its highly successful, critically and commercially acclaimed predecessor, "Pink Friday," released in 2010.

The album included a star-studded tracklist of collaborators including Eminem, Rihanna, Dake, Kanye West, Natasha Bedingfield, and Will.i.am.

It produced some of Minaj's chart-topping songs, which defined the early 2010s music scene: "Your Love," "Check It Out," "Right Thru Me," "Moment 4 Life," "Did It On'Em," Girls Fall Like Dominoes," "Fly," and of course, "Super Bass."
