Lil Nas X, while still beloved by many, has encountered several criticisms in the past for being a misogynist and his Halloween costume this year did not do him any favors.

According to reports, the rapper strutted around town as a bloody tampon, complete with a string and the lady part; instead of getting some laughs and compliments from netizens, he got criticisms and backlash.

One reportedly wrote: "This is so wrong you don't even know what we go through every month just gone laugh at our pain."

On X (formerly known as Twitter) though, he got harsher comments, with some accusing Lil Nas X of being a misogynist.

"Being gay doesn't excuse being misogynistic btw. stay out of women's business ffs," one wrote.

"I love when cis queer men mock experiences they will literally never have! it definitely doesn't drive me up the fucking walls."

"I never found you funny I never found you entertaining I never found you smart I just found you annoying."

"This and that fake labour thing he did when he was releasing his album feel very [nauseous emoji] Something about a cis gay man making fun of our bodies feels kind of misogynistic idk."

Lil Nas X Faces Backlash

This is not the first time the "Old Town Road" rapper faced backlash. He took one of his "jokes" a little too far and ended up offending the Transgender community and its allies.

According to reports, he had shared a picture of a woman who looked like him and captioned it, "The surgery was a success."

Members of the Transgender community found his comment offensive and disrespectful, especially since the community has always struggled with being accepted into society, harmful jokes like this are unwelcomed.

Is Lil Nas X Problematic?

As per several netizens, the rapper has "always" been problematic, but he always manages to slip through the cracks.

"Why do y'all like Lil Nas X?? N***a been problematic since his stan days, yall giving him too many chances."

"OMFG I saw his old tweets and it's like... what compelled you to behave so ugly towards people like that."

"I think some people still support his cause since he used to be on stan Twitter, half of the shit he did was what half of stan Twitter is doing now. so it's like why only get on him when everybody else did it too? that's just based on what I've seen other people say."
